A BUILDING STEEPED
IN HISTORY
The Periodic Table is housed within a 150-year-old building with a captivating history. It was once the site of the first church school in Ooty, constructed immediately after the completion of John Sullivan's iconic Stone House in 1823. Initially conceived as a library-cum-museum, the building later transitioned into the hands of an English trading company (at one point, a tonga station occupied the space in front) before it became home to an iconic Higginbotham's bookstore. sometime after 1905.

The herbalist's affinity towards alchemy permeates throughout the space, evident in every detail. Mysterious brews and oils are held by beakers framed within hexagonal ring structures, reminiscent of benzene, the aromatic organic hydrocarbon. Sculptural, branch-like lighting elements grace the space, casting a captivating glow. The plush, modern teal on the walls finds harmony with the nostalgic allure of wooden furniture. Together, they meld the past with the present, reflecting the culinary artistry that awaits.
