Ruth & Diljeet:
Le Cafe is a hidden away gem of Ooty. Yes you have to climb a bit of a hill heading up out the town first but the stretch is so worth it. Le Cafe is on a quieter road which adds to its ambience. In the beautiful summer months when the sun shines all day, there is nothing better than sitting with a cold drink at Le Cafe.
The appeal of Le Cafe is the simple facade of shipping containers as the kitchen/counter display, with the seating spread across two terraces with plenty of parasols for shade. It really does feel like an escape from the busyness of everyday. They have a range of refreshments including the usual branded drinks and their own coolers, as well as delicious pizzas, sandwiches and cakes. The food is of a high standard and does not disappoint. The staff are attentive but give you space to relax and eat.
We have visited as a couple, as a family with our children and taking large groups of school children. Every time it has felt like treating yourself with something special and yet somewhere you will frequent regularly. Le Cafe really is a touch of class in a busy tourist town, yet still retains that homely feel. The campus also now benefits a high end restaurant and a grocery store, both of which are also worth a visit.
